Torun – the town where Copernicus was born, the town where gingerbread is made! (You smell it everywhere.) It’s an old town that has origins in the twelfth century.
One of the town legends is that when it was once infested by frogs, a fiddler (rafter) led the frogs away with his violin music. The Rafter’s Monument commemorates him:
